Hieroglyphics – 3rd Eye Vision

I doubt there will be much hip-hop on this blog, but this is going to be an exception because it rules so hard.
Hieroglyphics are an awesome underground hip-hop collective from Oakland in California. They’re in quite a strange position in that their
logo (Google it) is probably better known than their music, quite silly considering how fresh their two records have been, reaching a perfect balance between laid back beats and great rapping. Hieroglyphics were founded by Del Tha Funkee Homosapien who also lent his vocals to the two Gorillaz albums that Damon Albarn did, and it’s his rhymes that make up a large parts of this record.
Recommended for anyone with even a slight interest in hip-hop, this is pretty much the antithesis of the cliched gangsta rap that clogs up the charts today.

Thanks for checking out Acid Math!

This blog will hopefully act as a conduit for me to pass on stuff I think is awesome, to you, the music appreciator. There will be new stuff, old stuff, well known stuff and unknown stuff, everything will be good though, you can be sure of that.

Clicking on a picture will take you to a link where you can download said album for sampling purposes

Don't be selfish, consider all these links as means of sampling the artist only. If you like something then go and buy it. Equally as important, support your local music scene, no matter how small. Go and see shows.

I'm always up for linking with other blogs, so get in touch if you want to as well. Any queries? Leave a comment somewhere and i'll get back to you. Enjoy!
