Mika Miko – We Be Xuxa

Don’t you love it when you buy tickets to see a band you really like and then find out another awesome band is supporting? I do!
This happened to me very recently when I got tickets to see Black Lips play next Sunday (17th May) only to find out that this band, Mika Miko are also playing, ace. Mika Miko are a band from L.A. and so are inevitably part of The Smell scene. The Smell has definitely produced some good bands, but in my opinion it’s become more of a hipster tag than anything else now, but whatever. Anyway, what I like so much about this band is the way that they mix such a raw unrestrained sound with killer tunes and sound quite similar to The Slits, who you should also definitely check out if you haven’t heard of them before.
I’m totally going to start a stage invasion when I see them play.

P.S. Sorry for the delays in posting, I’ve got a hella amount of work in college at the moment and my exams start in less than a month, lolz.

Thanks for checking out Acid Math!

This blog will hopefully act as a conduit for me to pass on stuff I think is awesome, to you, the music appreciator. There will be new stuff, old stuff, well known stuff and unknown stuff, everything will be good though, you can be sure of that.

Clicking on a picture will take you to a link where you can download said album for sampling purposes

Don't be selfish, consider all these links as means of sampling the artist only. If you like something then go and buy it. Equally as important, support your local music scene, no matter how small. Go and see shows.

I'm always up for linking with other blogs, so get in touch if you want to as well. Any queries? Leave a comment somewhere and i'll get back to you. Enjoy!
